Diversey Care Presents Sustainability Award at 41st EHMA General Meeting
Monaco, France – 31 March 2014 – Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division honoured Fabrice Moizan, general manager of Hotel Fouquet’s Barrière in Paris, with the European Hotel Managers Association (EHMA) Sustainability Award by Diversey Care. Moizan was honoured because of his strong leadership, innovative approach to sustainability and the programme’s clear impact on the environment. Diversey Care presented the award during a ceremony on 29 March at the 41st EHMA General Meeting in Monaco.
“We are honoured to present this award to such a deserving individual,”†said Dr Ilham Kadri, President of Diversey Care. “Diversey Care is committed to providing a better way for life for current and future generations, and we are pleased to have partnered with EHMA to honour those who demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.”
The EHMA Sustainability Award by Diversey Care acknowledges an EHMA general manager who successfully implements an innovative sustainability programme at their property. Moizan’s sustainability programme raised in excess of €181,000 through his employees and him selling wine; the money was used to re-plant 40 hectares of forest and 37,000 trees, thus reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.
In addition to presenting the award at the event, Diversey Care President Dr Ilham Kadri participated in a joint discussion on sustainability with Professor Michael Hartman, an EHL adviser for sustainability strategy. Dr Kadri spoke about the importance of sustainability within the hospitality industry and how it is the new “quality”,† while Hartmann presented the EHL philosophy of the three axes to sustainability –†environment, society and profit.
