Challenge

Online fresh food meal-kit company Quomi wanted to switch from the plastic bags and branded boxes they were using to protect and keep orders fresh.  Their packaging was not keeping orders fresh or protected, which was resulting in food waste following transit.

Solution

Quomi urgently needed a sustainable packaging material which also had superior insulating properties to keep food fresh.  With increased demand from consumers for packaging which could easily be recycled, Quomi turned to Sealed Air for help.
Sealed Air proposed its SEALED AIR® Brand TempGuard solution. This would enhance product integrity as well as improving the brand experience for Quomi’s customers. 

Sealed Air brand TempGuardTM is designed for shipping pre-packaged temperature-sensitive goods. It delivers excellent thermal insulation and an outstanding layer of protective padding. This combination of performance ensures the meal-kit arrives with the consumer in optimum quality, while also providing them with paper packaging that is easily and widely recycled.

Tests on replica packs were carried out to demonstrate the quality of Sealed Air brand TempGuardTM to Quomi.  The company was then sent a selection of samples in different dimensions to trial the product, before switching earlier this year.
